Happy 4th of July!

We had a good 4th weekend. Matt's whole immediate family was able to get together to celebrate the 4th. It had been about 3 years since we had all been together at the same time. The kids had a great time playing with their Arizona cousins. Skylar and Maddy hit it off and we think she would make a great babysitter. Skylar was pretty grumpy on Friday and we discovered Saturday she had an ear infection. We were amazed she didn't cry during this family picture. The fireworks were flying and we aren't sure who had more fun. Matt and Andy (Matt's B-in-law) or the kids. I think my vote is for the guys. In the morning light there was quite a mess to pick up.

Ally, Emma, Maddy, Matt, & Bennett take time to pose after a few firecrackers and smoke bombs in the tunnel by our house.
We enjoyed the beautiful afternoon at the pool while the men were golfing.

Swimming Lessons

Emma and Bennett spent the last two weeks taking swimming lessons. Bennett is finally getting confident in the water. Emma loves the water as well and they both would be happy to spend each day at the pool. Skylar was such a trooper over the course of the two weeks. It was during her morning nap but, she was usually pretty content sitting in her stroller or crawling around the pool deck.

Go Tigers!

Emma finally won her first game of the season. They lost the first one & tied the second. She went 4 for 4 batting. Emma & the team have gotten better each game. Matt is the head coach. It has been fun seeing him in that role. He is doing such a great job!

Insect Zoo

We took our first trip to the KSU Gardens and Insect Zoo. It was a pretty warm day but we had a good time. The huge ant farm was the highlight of the Insect Zoo. They also really enjoyed following the paths around the Gardens.

What a week!

It has been such an unbelieveable week! The tornado was something we do not want to go through again. Even though we are ok and had no damage it was a very scary night. We feel terrible for those that lost their homes. The wrath of a tornado is unreal. If you haven't seen any pictures here is a link to check out.... http://www.z963.com/php/jc2.html
We were able to enjoy the weather before and after the tornado. Bennett had Jr. Golf last week and enjoyed it very much. He wasn't ready for it to be over. His buddy Bryce participated also and we can see many rounds of golf in their future.
The kids also really enjoyed their trip to Rolling Hills Zoo. It was a perfect day to be there. Skylar even took notice of the animals. It was surprising to see how much she enjoyed herself. I was lucky to get this picture. Emma didn't want to get too close to the camels. She thought they were going to spit on her.
I had to include this picture of Skylar. I took this tonight at dinner. I am not sure how much she got in her tummy but she sure got it everywhere else. Her hair was just full of squash. Needless to say she got a bath tonight.

"The Top Of The World"

We went on a nature hike to the "Top of the World" today. It was a beautiful day and the kids loved collecting the wild flowers. We came home with a big bouquet for the dining room table.

Dad lifted Bennett over a mud puddle and then he decided he liked being carried better than walking.

Too Much Rain

What a week for weather! We have really had the storms here this week. Early in the week we had some of the worst hail ever! The kids and I didn't see any of it though because we were stuck in the basement of the library. We had gone to sign up for their summer reading program and the sirens went off. The van has some hail damage but, it could be a lot worse compared to many other cars I have seen around town. Emma was supposed to have her first softball game this week but it was canceled due to the storm. We did enjoy the sun for a few days though. The pool was a fun place to be on those days. Today we set up the kids pool in our back yard. Emma , Bennett and friends played all afternoon. Peyton (our nephew) was here this week at KSU Basketball camp. Emma and Bennett enjoyed spending time with him at Grandma & Grandpa Jensen's. Skylar turned 9mos. old this week and is officially weaned. She finally decided the bottle is ok. I wasn't sure that was ever going to happen. Yeah! I guess that is our week in a nutshell. We are just having fun and enjoying the summer.
